First School in Upper Canada

THE SCHOOLHOUSE ST. JOHN'S WEST

Location: Hollow Road, West of St. John's Outdoor Study Centre

Samuel Birdsall may have kept his school here in 1804. This old schoolhouse was closed forty years later. The building was restored in 1973 by The Niagara South Board of Education.
