Waverly Beach
Located at the south end of Helena Street and Edgemere Road Waverly Beach is a large sandy beach with lovely waterfront trails with access to the remains of Erie Beach Amusement Park.
From the beach you can see the city of Buffalo and the remains of Erie Beach Amusement Park including the long concrete dock where visitors from Buffalo would disembark for a day of picnicing along the shore of Lake Erie.
Waverly Beach can also be considered the eastern terminus of the Friendship Trail. From here you can travel all the way to Port Colborne in the west. This is a great place to park your car and take a trip along the Friendship Trail.
The trail that winds through Waverly Beach is part of the Friendship Trail, but at one time was the Promenade to Erie Beach Amusement Park. Great care has been taken to make this section of the trail both accessible to the public, while preserving the natural heritage of the area. Signs posted along the trail explain the history of the amusement park.
